A two-decade collection of work shaping one of the world’s most recognizable natural food brands — from hand-lettering in stores to Global Art Director directing the creative vision, brand identity, and storytelling that defined Whole Foods Market + Amazon worldwide. Over 20 years, I helped build the brand from the ground up, guided its creative evolution through Amazon’s acquisition, bridged retail and global teams, and led multi-million-dollar initiatives across retail, store development, and corporate programs.

Sarah Farsh – Former Global Art Director, Whole Foods Market

Sarah Farsh is a visionary creative leader who served as Global Art Director at Whole Foods Market for nearly 20 years. A foundational force in shaping the brand’s visual identity, Farsh played a pivotal role in developing and launching key initiatives such as the 365 by Whole Foods Market brand Campaign and the iconic Local Campaign, which emphasized community-based sourcing and storytelling.

Throughout her tenure, Sarah led multidisciplinary design teams, directed national campaigns, and helped define the aesthetic language that made Whole Foods a standout in the natural foods retail space. Her legacy includes building the brand from the ground up — from in-store graphics and global design to digital experiences and nationwide creative strategy.

LOCAL Rebrand 2020

Resolved business critical problem statement, increased brand awareness and overal comps for Whole Foods Market with rebranding work on the National Local program 2019/2020. Developed and art directed design from concept through completion for in-store, digital and social assets with support of Global Marketing Creative Department which included an overal brand refresh, style guide, operational templates, photography guidelines, shortcuts and tools for production, and an iconic t-shirt.

Catch a 365 Rainbow: Photobooth

As Lead Creative Coordinator for the WFM Northeast Creative Team — Jon Anderson, Jennifer Heal, Diana Adaros, Catie Randall, and Natasha Bali — I directed the design and execution of a custom, interactive experience for the Whole Foods Market 365 Fort Greene Pre-Opening Party. “Catch a 365 Rainbow” was an immersive AR digital art installation where guests danced beneath a vibrant fruit-and-vegetable rainbow with blueberry showers. This influencer-focused event took place on January 25, 2018, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), New York, showcasing innovative experiential design and brand storytelling.

Led team of creatives in the Northeast and Florida Region concept and craft a wide range of dynamic work used for in-store, social media, digital and targeted posts. Work closely with designers, animators, photographers and food stylists to develop these short and sweet video clips - featured Regionally and Nationally by Whole Foods Market.

We had a total of 75 social media influencers and traditional media attend the event which included Shape, Women’s Day, New York Post and Rachael Ray Every Day, and top influencer guests including @VegginInTheCity (+139k followers), @HungryObsession (65k followers), @VeggieKins (+68k followers) and @VeggiesAndChocolate (+55k followers).

Collaborating with top food stylists, designers, and chefs, I directed the editorial vision, design, and photography to deliver visually compelling, on-brand storytelling that showcased seasonal products, recipes, and lifestyle content while reinforcing Whole Foods Market’s + Amazon brand identity and customer experience.

As Global Art Director for Whole Foods Market, I led the art direction and creative execution for Whole Foods Market’s 365 campaign image collections, including thoughtfully staged vignettes of new products in updated packaging. While the packaging design was developed by the design team, I was responsible for unveiling the refreshed look across all brand touch points — including posters, digital media, email campaigns, website, and in-store visuals — through photography that captured product groupings and categories, creating a cohesive, visually compelling launch that reinforced brand identity and customer engagement.

Bonitas En Cuba

Before there were American flights directed to Cuba, I decided to take a cultural trip with photographer and friend Judith Rae. We ended up exploring the land, people, architecture and culture with camera and sound recording gear. We composed a visual and sound art experience with the photos, video and sound recordings taken by Judith on our travels through Cuba. 

Developed, planned and curated the show Bonitas En Cuba, a sound and visual art exhibition that was held at Merc Studios located in the Miami Art District of Wynwood on September 9th 2016. Organized, hosted and managed the opening night party which had over 150 attendees including VIP guests, sponsors which provided craft cocktails, light bites and hand sliced Copia ham from Spain. We encouraged guests to donate clothing at the event to give back to charity. Created and developed marketing material including the design for the event flier, hashtag #bonetasencuba and digital marketing teasers to promote event. 

The event and exhibition enjoyed by guests and featured in media and magazines like Indulgence.

Planned, conceived and developed show which included opening reception & silent auction. 

The purpose of this event was to celebrate the talents of our store artist, and further develop their joy and passion for work they do at our stores. At this art show, our artist had a chance to network with team members and the local art community, showcase their talents, help raise money for a non-profit foundation and have fun!

Team Build: Mural Project

June 20th - June 21st, 2013, 2-day Team Build and Team Meeting, Whole Foods Market® Florida Region 

Planned, developed, lead and organized artist meeting and mural project. 

On our first day, we all joined together at the Museum of Contemporary Art for a team meeting and museum tour. On the second day, we painted a giant mural for North Miami Elementary School's garden.

Purpose: Creative learning, problem solving, inspiring our artists, artists training and development, team building and servicing the community.

National Leadership Summit 2016

Whole Foods Market® Annual Gathering 2016, National Leadership Summit. 

Led creative team to prepare 5 stores for global visits, including that of CEO Jon Mackey. Branded and designed all creative assets and merchandise from concept to completion. Highlights include:

• Mobile-friendly visitors site for attendees to explore the area’s vibrant culture, restaurants, sights and sounds. 

• An exclusively commissioned park of free-standing interactive displays made from recycled Whole Foods Market Paper Pags; each telling a story about the Florida Region. 

“Many positive adjectives were given from the attendees describing their experience with comments such as; best ever, most inspirational and an event everyone can learn from. Our team organized the theme as Innovation, Hospitality and entrepreneurship with the tag line of Savor the Flavor recognizing the diversity in Miami of cultures, food, music, design and people.” Juan Nunez, RP Whole Foods Market, FL
